Jharkhand Ex Army Vice Chief addresses Kargil Vijay Diwas event

Ranchi, Jul 26 (UNI) A lecture on the theme "Indian Army's Saga of Valour" was organised in Ranchi on Sunday to mark Kargil Vijay Diwas by the Rashtriya Suraksha Jagran Manch (RSJM/FANS) and Seva Jagrukta Manch.
Lieutenant General A S Lamba (Retd), former Vice Chief of the Indian Army and national president of RSJM/FANS, delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the courage, discipline, leadership and sacrifices of the Indian Army, particularly during the 1999 Kargil conflict, and urged the youth to contribute to nation-building with dedication and a spirit of service.
Presiding over the programme, Gopal Singh, former chairman of CIL, CCL and BCCL, said Kargil Vijay Diwas symbolised courage, duty and commitment to the nation and called upon citizens to contribute positively towards national development.
The programme commenced with a Vedic peace invocation. V N Pandey delivered the welcome address, while Anjan Kumar conducted the proceedings. Amit Kumar, convenor of RSJM/FANS, Ranchi, proposed the vote of thanks.
Former servicemen, academicians, social workers, students and other citizens attended the programme and paid tributes to the soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.
